The version tree is an improved visual timeline of any file or directory evolution. It allows developers to trace why changes were introduced, and integrators to solve merge and promotion issues more efficiently. Being a 3D representation, it efficiently displays complex merge relations allowing rotation, panning and zooming with ease. It is extremely easy to select two revisions and compare them with the integrated difference tool. These are real screenshots of the 3D version tree in action:

 

 

And information on a certain revision can be shown by clicking on that revision: revision number, owner, changeset, parent revision and the comments attached to it. The merge links (green arrows) show the merge relationships between revisions, which are used internally by Plastic SCM to minimize the number of manual conflicts that the user will have to care about.
