Development Environments

Plastic SCM provides complete integrations with the most popular Development Environments, usually providing developers with the ability to perform all their daily versioning operations transparently from within their preferred IDE.

Furthermore, if your IDE or tool is not among those with specific integrations, Plastic SCM supports a working mode where your files are not marked as read only, allowing transparent editing from any existing tool. Later those edited files can by easily found and checked in to the repository. This mechanism ensures that Plastic SCM can work transparently on any environment.

Visual Studio integration

Plastic SCM provides a full implementation of the SCC interface for version control, meaning that a user is able to perform the basic commands such as creating versions and comparing single files from within Visual Studio.
Since Plastic SCM 2.7 all Plastic SCM features are included inside Visual Studio 2005 and higher.  In addition to basic operations, users can also create branches, workspaces, run merges, inspect changes, work the branch explorer and so on. Read more…

Eclipse integration

Starting to work with Plastic SCM for Eclipse is very simple. You would only have to create a new project and share it all to the source control; it would all be ready to start working. Plastic SCM is designed for developers to spend their time working exclusively on development, and not having to learn how to use new tools. It also provides useful functionalities in order to increase their development's productivity, like full management of branches from within the IDE, or the ability to explore all Plastic workspace objects.

Oracle Jdeveloper integration
Plastic SCM also integrates seamlessly with JDeveloper, resulting on a significant improvement on the quality and efficiency of your development, aligning JDeveloper teams with the organization's CM standards and providing an easy and intuitive to use environment for Oracle users. Available operations are adding new projects, updating Plastic SCM repository when needed, checking in and out files as well as view and compare different versions of items in the project.

Plastic SCM SCC integration is supported on Visual Studio .NET 2003 and any later release, including Visual Studio 2008, and is reported to work with several other tools, such as Microsoft Access.

Note: In order to use Microsoft Access integration it is necessary to install the following Add-In, provided by Microsoft:
