Plastic SCM provides complete integrations with the most popular Development Environments, usually providing developers with the ability to perform all their daily versioning operations transparently from within their preferred IDE.
Furthermore, if your IDE or tool is not among those with specific integrations, Plastic SCM supports a working mode where your files are not marked as read only, allowing transparent editing from any existing tool. Later those edited files can by easily found and checked in to the repository. This mechanism ensures that Plastic SCM can work transparently on any environment.

From Visual Studio, developers can keep under control the whole project working transparently on their source code. Operations such as check out and check in, adding new elements, the ability to see the differences with previous versions, checking the history of the project or obtaining different versions are all easily available. Furthermore, Plastic SCM integration with Visual Studio fully supports move, rename and delete operations, allowing a seamless interaction with the versioned codebase and correctly handling modern practices like refactoring, which is such a pain with different SCM tools.

Plastic SCM is designed for developers to spend their time working exclusively on development, and not having to learn how to use new tools. It also provides useful functionalities in order to increase their development's productivity, like full management of branches from within the IDE, or the ability to explore all Plastic workspace objects.
